CASB Online Staff

All Career Academy Online students will have an outstanding support team to help them navigate their online world. Based on a student’s needs and Individual learning plan, they may have support from a Special Education teacher, Speech Pathologist, High Ability Teacher, English Language Learner Specialist or a Literacy Interventionist. Any support that a student would receive during in-person instruction will still be available to them during online instruction.

Director of Online and Blended Programs

BS Animal Science/ Business minor: Brigham Young University
MA Teaching/ Social Studies Education: Andrews University
MA Mathematics Education: Western Governors
MA Educational Leadership: Andrews University

While I am new to the Career Academy family, I have been involved with online/blended education for nearly 15 years, with the last 13 years dedicated to teaching in an online/blended capacity across all content areas. I bring with me my passion for education. As a lifelong learner, I have found that the best way to improve as an educator is to continually be a student yourself. It is my hope that through modeling this love for learning, I can help others open the doors of opportunity.

Outside of education, my most valued treasures are my spouse of 24 years, and our 4 children. Together we love to go on adventures, watch BYU football (where I can see my sons march in the Cougar Marching Band), and spend as much time together as possible.

Brett Harring

Online Faculty

My name is Brett Harring. I have an education degree from Hope College with a major in Learning Disabilities. I spent the first four years of my career working in Kindergarten through 5th Grade Resource Rooms near Grand Rapids, Michigan. I then spent the next 9 years teaching in Edwardsburg, MI. I taught 2nd grade Reading, Writing, and Math Interventions as well as doing math interventions at the high school and everything in between. I have been doing math interventions in the Career Academy Middle School for the past 4 years. I coached soccer, on top of my teaching duties, for over a decade with various clubs and high school programs. Outside of school, I have a loving wife and 3 energetic children. I enjoy spending my time watching them with their various activities or making up some activities at home. Needless to say, I don’t have much downtime.
